Last updated: June 20, 2026. These Terms govern your use of Routel (the “Service”), operated by Routel, LLC (“Routel,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
Routel is a Bring-Your-Own-Key (BYOK) client and routing layer. When you connect your own third-party AI provider account (e.g., OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic), Routel sends your requests to that provider using your own credentials, under your own agreement with that provider. Routel is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any AI provider. We do not resell access to any model and do not pool credentials across users.
You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for your account credentials and all activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it current.
You are solely responsible for complying with the terms, usage policies, and acceptable-use rules of every AI provider you connect. Your use of any model through Routel is also governed by that provider’s terms. You represent that your use does not violate those terms, and you will not use Routel to circumvent any provider’s rate limits, safety systems, or policies.
You agree to our Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated by reference. Prohibited uses include illegal activity, generating malware, infringing others’ rights, attempting to build a competing AI model from provider outputs, or using the Service to harm others.
Paid plans are billed through our payment processor (Stripe) on a recurring basis until canceled. Compute costs are incurred on your own provider account under BYOK; our subscription fee is for the Routel software layer. You may set a monthly spend cap in the Service; we provide caps and alerts as a convenience but you remain responsible for charges incurred on your provider accounts. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing prospectively with notice.
As between you and Routel, you retain rights to your inputs and to outputs you generate, subject to the applicable provider’s terms. We make no warranty that outputs are accurate or non-infringing. The “Routel” name and logo are our trademarks. All third-party names referenced in the Service are trademarks of their respective owners and are used nominatively for compatibility/identification only.
THE SERVICE AND ALL AI OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY. AI output may be wrong, incomplete, or biased; you are responsible for reviewing it before relying on it.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ROUTEL WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS OR DATA. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 3 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (OR USD $50 IF GREATER ONLY WHERE REQUIRED BY LAW). This does not limit compute charges you incur directly with providers.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Routel from claims arising out of your use of the Service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any provider’s terms or applicable law.
You may cancel anytime. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable provider policies, or to comply with law. Upon termination you may export your memory data.
We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified in-product or by email. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Texas, United States, excluding conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located in Texas.
